Merry Christmas! We are wheels up on our way to Big White Ski Resort for our honeymoon. I’m excited for the cold weather but hoping I packed enough layers. We celebrated Christmas early in order to get quality time with our families before our trip. Yesterday we even Facetimed my family in California to open our gifts together. Thank God for technology! I hope you’re enjoying your holiday. I’ve rounded up a few favorites for the month of December for you.
I’m a sucker for items that are better for the environment and I was in the market for a new planner (win-win). This planner is a little different from my previous Lilly Pulitzer and Sugar Paper LA planners. It’s centered on goal setting and focuses on all aspects of your life not just the errands you have to run that day. It even encourages being aware of your mood and eating habits. Can’t wait to try it.
I’ve never been big on Youtube. Typically I keep up solely with readable content but when Carly from The College Prepster started vlogging I decided to give some vlogs a try. I love it so much its become part of my daily routine. I wake up, make my coffee, then head into the living room to watch a video or two. It’s the perfect amount of time for some me time before I start my day.
Funny story: Last week I was in Starbucks grabbing coffee for MJ and I when I heard someone behind me. Her voice was distantly familiar. I turned around to see Carly’s mom (who frequents her vlogs) talking behind me. I introduced myself and we sent Carly a picture. Meesh is as sweet in person as she is in Carly’s videos and she made me laugh when she told her husband she had a fan.

I found this brand through Gal Meets Glam and I’m hooked. For Christmas gifts, I want to start a tradition of sorts of giving one small gift to everyone on our list. The chocolate was perfect to slip under bows and give in larger quantities to those on our list who love sweets.
I think I speak for us all when I saw budgeting is not fun. It feels tedious and a little scary at times to make sure you’re keeping your finances in line. I was in the market for a new app that would help me take the guess work out of my budgeting and after trying a few different apps I found Level. Level allows you to connect to the accounts of your choice and by marking income and expenses it provides you with your money budget. It learns reoccurring expenses and provides a clear easy to digest number of what you have left daily and monthly to spend. Perfect for gaining or maintaining balance.
Most of the items on our registry were house items or items that we could both use but there were a select few that were just for one of us. One of my items was a travel portfolio from Potterybarn. While traveling I hate having to put my jewelry in one bag. The jewelry inevitably gets tangled and has the potential to get damaged in transit. I take care of my items at home so why not while traveling. Now everything has its place, and its safe from getting lost at the bottom of a bag.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday! I’ll post a little but want to be really present during our trip so make sure you’re following along on Snapchat (adashofsass) and Instagram.
